Overview

Number Representation & Basic Logic Gates establishes the physical and mathematical building blocks of digital logic circuits. This submodule covers positional number systems (Binary, Octal, Hexadecimal), two-valued Boolean algebra, algebraic simplification theorems, CMOS transistor switch mechanics (nMOS and pMOS), transmission gates, and transistor-level implementations of universal logic gates (NAND and NOR).

Submodule Notes

  • Number Systems and Boolean Algebra
Positional number encodings (Binary, Octal, Hexadecimal), primary and derived logic gate truth tables, Boolean axioms, single/multi-variable algebraic theorems, duality principles, and formal proof methods (perfect induction and algebraic derivation).

  • Transistors & Gates
Electrical foundations (), CMOS transistor switches, Pull-Up (pMOS) and Pull-Down (nMOS) networks, transmission gate mechanics, and transistor-level circuit schematics for universal NAND and NOR gates.
